This is the 2011 Buick Excelle compact sedan that was caught completely uncovered in China. This model is rumored be launched in China at the Beijing Auto Show and is expected to hit the US market early next year. The Excelle is based on the Opel Astra with an interior that looks pretty much identical, except for a Buick badge on the steering wheel.
Exterior wise it features the brand’s typical waterfront grille and at the back, there are taillights that remind me of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata somehow. A number of powerplants are expected to offered and they should be 4-cylinder petrol units, like the hatchback. These engines are like to range between 116hp and 180hp thanks to turbocharger.
The above-mentioned hatchback model is called the Buick Excelle XT but it looks nothing like the red sedan you are seeing here. The hatchback is specifically for the Chinese market only. Continue reading to look at more images of the Excelle sedan.
