2012 Dacia MPV First Photo

Dacia MPV rendering
In the middle of December, news from Romania said that the existing line of Dacia models will grow a little bigger in 2012, once the new, and at the same time the first MPV manufactured in the country will roll off the assembly lines of the Mioveni facility.
When the information broke, there was no actual photo to go, but apparently, that problem has been solved last week by French publication L'Argus, who allegedly got its hands on the “exact lines of the future MPV.”

The rendering they present depicts a weird mix between a Logan MCV as the overall stance and a Volkswagen, as the Germans have designed the front ends of their vehicles for the past two years or so.

Even if the major pieces of information about the project are missing, a few things are known. As is the case with the Logan MCV, the MPV will be a seven seater. Even more, the two will pretty much share the same platform, on which Dacia might fit, if everything goes according to plan, the new range of engine for which it received funding recently.

In the immediate future though, the model will likely rely on the existing powerplants, used across the Dacia range: the 1.6l 16V petrol (105 horsepower) and two 1.5 dCI units (90 and 110 horsepower).

Since sales of the other Dacia models have gone so well, making the Romania plant reach capacity, Dacia might build the new model in Morocco. Until production begins however, the MPV is said to be on its way to this year's Geneva Auto Show.-autoevolution.com
