MPV of the Year: Tata Aria

The Tata Aria became the MPV of the year and made it to the list of finalists without too much of a fight, thanks to being the only vehicle launched this year in its category.
Despite being the only unchallenged MPV this year, the Tata Aria made for a worthy finalist. Members of the jury appreciated the suave design and smart packaging of the Aria, to begin with. Owing to its sorted-out proportions, great mix of curves and a good overall stance, the Aria goes ahead and makes an impression on the roads.

On the insides, the Aria once again shows the lessons learnt by Tata Motors in smart packaging of space. Roomy even in the third row, the MPV makes for a very effective people's carrier. Laden with features and equipped with a comfy suspension, Tata's latest certainly makes its point as a sophisticated vehicle for the large family.
Powered by the 2.2-litre DiCOR engine and equipped with a 4x4 torque-on-demand system, the vehicle breaks new ground in cars of its class. The only thing that played against it in the final round was its price. It was a tricky call, since the car provides a whole lot of features that justify the price point - the only problem is that existent incumbents of the sector do almost everything that the Aria can, at a significantly lower price.-zigwheels.com
