Fisker Automotive partnered with the China Grand Automotive Group or CGA to distribute, market and service its vehicles in China. Executives from both the companies formalized the non-exclusive agreement during a ceremony near CGA headquarters in Shanghai.
With the signing of the agreement, the company plans to make the Chinese debut of its first car, the Fisker Karma, at the Shanghai Motor Show in April 2011. The Karma represents Fisker Automotive’s vision of responsible luxury and is the world’s first true electric vehicle with extended range.
In its first car, the company has combined world class style and performance with good economy and lowest emissions. The four-passenger Karma, which has a total range of 483 km, is capable of traveling 80 km on emission-free electric power and an additional 403 km on low-emission hybrid electric power.
Fisker noted it has already received around 3,000 pre-orders for the Karma from eager customers around the world. The company that plans to begin initial Chinese customer deliveries in the fall intends to sell 15,000 Karma vehicles per year globally.
Apart from the KarmaFisker is also developing a higher-volume line of premium electric vehicles, which are scheduled to start production in the last quarter of 2012.-webcache.googleusercontent.com
