Well, a little bit of Toyo news here. Toyota is all set to roll out their brand new EV car at the Geneva auto show set to kick off in next month. An electric car prototype of Toyota’s iQ model, it will be the latest entry from Toyota to the category of vehicles running on Lithium-ion battery. Coming in the ultra compact category, the car is meant to accommodate three passengers.

The flat shaped Lithium-ion battery pack is a part of the electric powertrain that is the soul of this new vehicle. The system is based on the current Hybrid Synergy Drive System from Toyota.
The Li-ion pack, according to the claims of the company, is capable of providing fueling power up to 105 kilometers or in other words, 65 miles on a single charge. However, this may not seem so much attractive for long drives, but makes it more environment-friendly.

Though Toyota will showcase a near production prototype of the new car at the Geneva show, it will take at least up to 2012 for the company to make it all set for sale.
After a thorough road testing, the iQ EV car will be first heading to European roads on leasing plan. Later, it will have its presence in the North America.-gizmocrave.com
