First Aston Martin One-77 Already Delivered

2011 Aston Martin One
When it first appeared at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and later at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the Aston Martin One-77 coupe generated much speculation within the luxury car industry and among members of the press. Commencing delivery on October 2010, the first of the 77 coupes have finally been turned over to its rightful owner as delivery on the luxury vehicle has been spotted at Monaco’s Hotel de Paris. Further speculations have circulated that only a few slotsremain on the vehicle’s highly coveted short list. As of November of last year, only 17 Aston Martin One-77units have yet to be sold. And with the first car delivered early this year, delivery on the last unit is expected to be completed late this year.
Mum about the issue

Aston Martin has kept silent about the most-awaited first delivery and has not revealed as of date the identity or any specific detail concerning the most talked-about first owner. This latest coupe from the British luxury carmanufacturer is the fastest and most expensive ever manufactured as of date. From an initial selling price of € 1,340,000, a price increase of £150,000 has been disclosed by Aston Martin on November 2010, specifically on the 17 unsold units from its total production of 77.

Only very few details area available on the coupe’s first public sighting, which all but involve the location of the delivery, the color of the car, and the lack of license plates on the vehicle. An impressive- looking black Aston Martin One-77 was spied at the front grounds of the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, Monaco, which did not sport any license plates.

Aston Martin global growth

Sales for Aston Martins last year have been phenomenal on a global scale, and the company is positive on even more impressive growth within this year. With the introduction of new products, such as the Aston Martin One-77, and the expansion of its network dealerships, the company is poised for even more growth in the coming months. Along with the One-77, another luxury car, this time in an eco-friendlier variation, has also been launched – the Cygnet.
While global sales for Aston Martin have been generally impressive last year, sales performances in the UK have not been as remarkable. Annual Aston Martin sales have been steadily dropping in the UK for the past four years; and last year sales have plummeted by 9%. Only 1,080 units were sold last year; when sales had already peaked to 2,292 units in 2006.
According to data from the UK Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Bentley and Porsche are two of the top selling car brands in the UK last year; with 31% sales growth for Bentley and 29 % for Porsche.
