Sir Richard Branson to serve as female flight attendant on AirAsia X flight after he loses bet

Sir Richard Branson will serve passengers on board a rival airline's flight dressed as a female air stewardess after he lost a bet with the company's chief executive.
The Virgin boss will be expected to perform regular duties on the flight from London's Stansted Airport to Kuala Lumpur, including cleaning the toilets, after he lost the wager with AirAsia X founder Tony Fernandes.

Branson will be required to wear AirAsia X's regulation red stewardess outfit, along with make-up and high-heels.

Fernandes said Branson would also have to shave his legs as AirAsia X does not permit 'hairy stewardesses'. He will, however, be able to keep his beard.

Branson lost a wager with Fernandes over whose Formula One team would place higher in this year's rankings.

Although both teams completed the season with zero points, Fernandes' Lotus F1 team was placed ahead of Branson's Virgin Racing after it secured better race finishing positions.

The two airline bosses agreed that the owner of the losing team would serve as a flight attendant on the other owner's airline.
After the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi, Branson was issued his AirAsia X stewardess uniform and a name tag that read 'Richard Branson - Flight Attendant' in the Lotus Racing pit at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Fernandes confirmed the agreement on Twitter where he wrote: 'February 21, 2011. Richard Branson will be a crew of AirAsia X.'

Seats on the flight, which is not yet on AirAsia X's reservation system, will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to a charity of Branson's choice.
But there was some cold comfort for Branson, whose Virgin Group owns a stake in Fernandes's AirAsia X.
He said: 'The only positive thing is we own 20 per cent of his company so I'll be able to get some promotion for a company I have a stake in.'-.dailymail.co.uk
