Hyundai recently unveiled its all-newElantra sedan and, thanks to some leaked teaser sketches, we now have our first look at the four-door’s wagon variant. The 2011 Elantra made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Posted on the enthusiast site Hyundai-Blog, these sketches reportedly depict Hyundai’s upcoming Elantra five-door model. Slated to be called the i40W in Europe, the Elantra five-door is expected to make its world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
The European version of the Elantra wagon will come with a number of gas and diesel engine choices, including a base 1.6L, an economical 1.7L diesel and ever a performance-minded 2.0L diesel that cranks outs 177 horsepower and is backed by a dual-clutch transmission.
But while the model on display in Geneva will be for European consumption, U.S. buyers won’t be left in the dark. The Elantra sedan will reportedly reach our shores in 2012, likely sharing the sedan’s 1.8L engine and 40mpg rating.-leftlanenews.com
