TomTom iPhone GPS App Adds Navigate-To-Photo Functionality

TomTomiPhone.jpgGoogle Maps Navigation may have a leg-up on the other navigation services on the mobile platforms, but TomTom's not letting their guard down. The company was one of the first to showcase a full mobile navigation service for a mobile platform (iPhone OS, now iOS), and they have been constantly updating it ever since to make it more robust. There's plenty to love about it, and those who own an iPhone and a car dock could easily use the TomTom iPhone app in place of a dedicated navigation unit. And now, that choice is being made even simpler for users.

TomTom v1.5 has now become available in Apple's App Store, with the new version allowing users to turn their photo gallery into an address book. The primary new feature is "navigate-to-photo," where you simply take a geo-tagged picture with the iPhone and then use the TomTom app to navigate to that address. Take a picture of grandmother's house, and then on Thanksgiving, just tell your app to navigate there. Easy as pie!

The update is free of charge to existing owners and can be downloaded now.
