New Lotus Esprit to Feature V10 Engine?

Lotus New Lotus Esprit to Feature V10 Engine?
The Lotus Esprit featured a number of powerplants during its 29-year existence, topping out at a twin-turbo V8 engine worth 350 hp. A new Esprit is expected at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, and according to a new rumor it may be even more powerful than ever before.
The rumor, published on Mibz.com, indicates that Lexus may use the 560-hp V10 engine from the Lexus LFA in its top-range Esprit. Lotus had previously indicate that its Paris supercar concept would be even better than a simple Esprit revival, and this rumor could shed some light on what the company meant.
In addition to the LFA engine, the Esprit is expected to get other engine options including a 5.0-liter V8 worth around 420 horses.
Lotus information has been leaking like a sieve of late so it shouldn’t be long before another Esprit update drifts our way. [via Mibz]
