Infiniti has attached price tags to the G lineup-topping IPL coupes: the 2011 Infiniti Performance Line G Coupe will cost $48,825 with a six-speed manual and $50,725 with a seven-speed automatic. The high-performance coupes will go on sale in December of this year. A concept version of the IPL convertible, a production version of which should arrive sometime next year, is debuting at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.
What do you get for that price premium over the base G37 coupe? The IPLmodel gets a tuned-up version of Nissan's 3.7-liter V-6 with 348 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque on tap. That's an 18 horsepower and 6 lb-ft of torque boost over the base G37 coupe. In addition to the engine upgrade, the IPL G's suspension and steering have been re-calibrated to be more responsive, and the shocks and damping have been adjusted to account for harsher vibrations.
Visual upgrades all around complete the package, with dark 19-inch wheels, new front and rear fascias, plus two exclusive paint colors: Malbec Black and Graphite Shadow.
On the other side of the G spectrum, Infiniti also recently announced pricing for its base model, 218-horsepower G25 sedan. The 2011 Infiniti G25 sedan will start at $31,825.-motortrend.
