The RacerX Bugatti Type 12-2 concept car

After five years in production, the Bugatti Veyron still remains the epitome of the modern supercar – an incredible engineering feat that's both ridiculously fast and ridiculously expensive. In that time we've seen a number of mouth-watering versions of the supercar including the open-top Grand Sport and the paint-less Pur Sang. Now the team at Racer X Design has drawn on the Veyron platform to produce a luxurious 2 + 2 Bugatti concept design with ample luggage space that not only looks beautiful but borders on being practical... well, almost.
"The streamliner is not intended for production, and is just one of the many designs that Racer X Design have come up with," Racer X founder Reuben Zammit told Gizmag. "The aim was to get the type 12-2 immediately recognizable, yet make a signature of it’s own for a specific marque. A classic front engine rear wheel drive layout, the shape allows for a boot bigger than its rivals, yet keeps the lines flowing. The doors take in a large part of the side and the roof for easier access.
"The idea is to use a VW derived W12 engine with a twin turbo layout hence the name 12-2. Although not as extravagant as the W16 used in the Veyron, there would be enough power to propel the Type 12-2 to over 200 mph."

Motorcycle using superior electric power

American Michael Czysz has been building two-wheeled masterpieces for many years, though the cruel reality of racing has meant that the distinctly proletarian budgets he has had at his disposal have always been directly compared to the hundreds of millions spent by the likes of Honda, Yamaha, Ducati et al.

Widely considered the “man most likely” for almost too long, his electric motorcycle took its first BIG win in the Isle of Man TT Zero race a few hours ago when it blitzed the competition, demonstrating 135 mph top speeds and went within a whisker of the GBP10,000 prize for the first 100 mph lap of the Island circuit. Most significantly, the MotoCzysz team demonstrated the massive performance leap electric bikes have taken over the last 12 months as the second IOM electric race, albeit under a different guise (original creators of electric racing, TTxGP now has several international series running) saw the average winning speed jump more than 10% from 87.434 mph to 96.820 mph.

New Dodge MPV 2012

Dodge prepara un nuevo monovolumen/van para el 2012

Last April, Fiat made clear his intentions for the next five years in its business plan , which provides special emphasis to the recovery of Chrysler and its subsidiaries. One of the most interesting lines of work is the development of a new 7-seater MPV that will be designed and built for the U.S. market and will be a reality in 2012.
The new monovlumen be assembled on the platform C of Fiat, and would be called to compete with the Mazda5 and the Ford C-Max . From North America to focus the debate could be launched under the label both Chrysler and Dodge, but the second mark would make more sense as it would be a popular brand confirmed intentions to merge Chrysler Fiat and Lancia in a car segment higher.
Also bet to be released under seal Dodge, Fiat would give more freedom to raise more daring design, sports and even youth , and that one thing very clear is that Fiat does not want the Caravan or the Voyager as examples. This will fulfill a major objective of Fiat, bring young audiences to the new Dodge products, which will be more modern, practical and efficient .

Peugeot 508 spied

Peugeot 508
It’s high five for Peugeot. These pictures show the firm’s new
Mondeo-sized 508 which is set to replace both the 407 and unloved 607 when it goes on sale in the UK next year.

It’ll sized closer to the 407, but will be enlarged to offer much more space for rear-seat passengers – countering one of the major criticisms of the old model. The car is built to embrace the Chinese market, where buyers prefer to be chauffeured rather than drive themselves.

Style will be high on the list. The car is inspired by the 5 by Peugeot concept car which was unveiled at Geneva this year, and will be elegant yet understated – although touches of flare inspired by the SR1 concept will also feature.

Under the bonnet, the firm is likely to weight the range towards diesel, with 110bhp, 150bhp, 170bhp and 240bhp outputs likely. The latter is the V6 turbo which will be specced with more chrome, big wheels and a plush interior to cater for the market now vacated by the 607. A 2.0-litre petrol and larger petrol for the Chinese market will be available.

The car is likely to be launched in production guise at the Paris Motor Show, before going on sale later in 2011. A car featuring Peugeot’s Hybrid4 powertrain – a 163bhp 2.0 litre HDi FAP engine linked to a 37bhp electric motor – will join the range a year after launch.
