After a two-year break, Australian Superbike bosses have brought back a prize fund to the championship and there is now a total of $85,000 (£56,000) available over the remaining six rounds.
The move has been made by ASBK promoters IEG to give riders a greater return with prizes extending back as far as 12th place. A win nets you $2000 (£1300) while 12th gets $500 (£330) while riders contest the entire series will be entitled to a loyalty program payment of up to $300 for the Superbike and Supersport classes, extending the initial value of reduced entry fees.
“After a successful 2012 campaign, IEG promise to deliver more to loyal participants,” said IEG boss Yarrive Konsky. We have worked closely with sponsors to develop strategies to further aid riders and their personal growth in the sport of road racing.
“These strategies will be evident in 2013 with a new injection of prize money, contingencies, and rebates.”
