The first of two Kia V-8, rear-wheel-drive concepts has leaked ahead of its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, and it looks like another design bullseye for the brand. Another rear-drive V-8 concept is due to arrive at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
Based on the same platform that's expected to underpin a new luxury rear-drive sedan coming next year to the U.S., the four-door coupe concept's details are as yet unofficial, but we can guess at a few of the key details.
The V-8 under the hood will likely be, at least in concept form, the 5.0-liter V-8 found in the Genesis R-Spec, rated at something like 429 horsepower. The interior is obviously pure concept, but could be rationalized into a more production-worthy variant by the time the Detroit show rolls around.
The name, as indicated by the plate on the back of the car, is the GT, a simple-enough take on what's obviously being targeted: a Grand Touring four-seater.
