The highly anticipated 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show is just a few weeks away, and carmakers around the world are already trying their best to make sure they earn the spot for centre of attraction at the show. And Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo is not doing too bad either!
The company has recently uploaded a teaser about the new 4C mid-engined sports car on Alfa Romeo’s official Facebook page. The car was earlier previewed as a disguised concept at this year’s Geneva Salon. With Sergio Marchionne, head of the Fiat and Chrysler groups, announcing that the Alfa Romeo 4C will go on sales in European showrooms during the first half of 2012 with few units landing on US soil by the end of the year, the fact that a production version will be unveiled soon is almost confirmed. In case that does not happen, Alfa Romeo may decide to go in for a roadster version of the4C or an even more powerful version.
The 4C concept study that was introduced in Geneva was powered by a 1.75-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which supplied 200 horsepower to the rear axle through a dry clutch automatic transmission, better known as the ‘Alfa TCT’.-nitrobahn.com
