Sure, that was only one image and no information, but when you're talking about the 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class -- a five-seat compact MPV -- one photo could be all you really need.
The new B-Class is more than a reskin, though, it's an all new vehicle that's 3.5-inches longer, 0.4 inches wider and 1.9 inches lower than the current B-Class. Power comes from a small line of direct-injection four cylinder gasoline and diesel motors. Horsepower starts at 120 for the 1.6-liter B180 and goes to 154 in the B200. The 1.8-liter diesel cranks out 134 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque in the B180 CDI. The standard transmission -- as you've probably guess, knowing European people movers as you do -- is a six-speed manual with a seven-speed double-clutch automatic as optional.
The B-Class is a rival to the Volkswagen Touran, Ford C-Max and Citroen C4 Picasso in Europe.
As much as I want a diesel-powered, manual transmission compact MPV, odds have to be strongly against that drivetrain making it to the U.S. when the B-Class hits in late 2012.-blogs.insideline.com
