We've become used to seeing details of upcoming smartphones emerging well ahead of time thanks to the leaks and spy shots that seem an inevitable part of any product's development these days.
In fact, it's so inevitable that RIM seems determined to try and control the process itself, as it looks for all the world like RIM itself has done the leaking ahead of the expected announcement of the BlackBerry Bold Touch this week.
We've known about the Bold Touch – codename Dakota – for a few months now, and even though Nokia has stole the whole QWERTY-phone-with-touchscreen thunder by announcing the E6 a couple of weeks ago, this is still a big release for the business phone community.
So we're a little doubtful that the handset's ever-so-brief appearance on the BlackBerry homepage over the weekend was a genuine mistake – especially since it the pic-heavy product splashes confirm that the new handset will run BlackBerry OS 7.-mobot.net
