Previously, Opel has officially released Opel Astra TwinTop several moments ago; however, the automaker did not seem to satisfy with this new lineup, following thecar’s replacement issue. Recently, it has been confirmed that Opel is about to replace Astra TwinTop with a convertible, which is called Opel Astra Cabriolet. The automaker has actually announced this replacement in February this year. The new car itself will make its first debut in 2013, along with the detail specification and pricing.
Up to now, the automaker has not released any additional information about Opel Astra Cabriolet, expect several changes that would be equipped in the TwinTop’s successor. There is also no other leaked information from the automaker’s insider, except the fact that new enhancements would be stuffed in the Cabriolet. Canvas roof light is one of the new features this new lineup is going to have; the roof light is similar to the Golf Cabriolet.
It is reported that Opel Astra Cabriolet is going to have similar platform as the sedan, and thus, the automaker decided to extend the range production to new convertible. According to some source, the new car project is a part of € 11 billion investment, which was announced last year by the automaker.
